Walford villain Archie, played by actor Larry Lamb, was murdered in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day, sparking a mystery which is not expected to be resolved until next month's live episode.
As Archie had turned life in Albert Square upside down in the months preceding his death, a number of characters - including members of his own family - are currently suspects in the case.
Speaking to DS about who could have been responsible, Simons commented: "I absolutely don't have a clue! There are so many of them and I know what they're like here, they like to pin it on the most unsuspecting person! In fact, I keep thinking it must be me because I'm pretty much the only non-suspect!"
However, asked whether Roxy could have really killed her father, she replied: "In the last few days of his life, Roxy finally snapped and saw him for what he was. Me and Sam [Womack] were in tears during that scene because Larry was really going for us! Even though she was fuming, though, I still don't think she could do it because after he was dead, she was still saying, 'He's my dad and I could forgive anything'. I just don't think she has it in her."
Glynis Barber, who plays Archie's ex-wife Glenda, also recently told DS that she does not think her character was the culprit.
