EastEnders star Charlie Clements has admitted that he cannot decide whether his character Bradley Branning could have killed Archie Mitchell.

Bradley is currently being regarded as one likely suspect in the ongoing mystery, which began when the villain was killed on Christmas Day. The Walford favourite had a strong motive for murder after discovering that his partner Stacey (Lacey Turner) had been raped by Archie.

Viewers will finally find out who murdered Archie in the BBC soap's forthcoming live 25th anniversary episode, which airs on February 19.

Speaking on This Morning, Clements explained: "It's such a big storyline at the moment where one of about ten people could have done it and has involved the whole Square. And yes, Bradley does have lots of reasons [to do it], but I don't know if he's got it in him? I don't know - it's possible."

Asked whether he hopes Bradley is the killer, Clements replied: "Um, yes and no! I think it would be quite historical to go down as the one who killed Archie Mitchell and of course I am leaving, but apparently I commit suicide if you believe what you read, but as far as I know that's not true! I dunno what's going to happen!"

Producers are expected to hand out scripts to those involved in the live episode within the next few days. However, the identity of the killer will remain a closely-guarded secret until February 19. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
