'EastEnders' Moments: Tiffany's Death
Published Thursday, Feb 11 2010, 13:06 GMT | By Kris Green
Tiffany Mitchell's time on Albert Square came to an abrupt end when she was tragically mown down by Frank Butcher on the ninth bong of Big Ben on New Year's Eve 1998.
Having discovered her husband Grant's affair with her mother Louise, Tiffany resolved to leave Walford for good. Before leaving, she headed to The Vic for a final showdown with Grant to inform him that she was leaving with their daughter Courtney and he'd never see either of them ever again.
Distraught by the confrontation, Tiffany bolted for the door and accidentally fell down the stairs. The accident resulted in her admittance to hospital with a blood clot on the brain.

Tiffany was eventually discharged from hospital and despite being convinced by Beppe to frame Grant for pushing her down the stairs, she backtracked and wrote a letter clearing Grant of any wrongdoing. After saying her final farewells to her family and friends on New Year's Eve, Tiffany turned up at The Vic to take Courtney from Grant.
Grant, however, refused to hand her over and Tiffany chased Grant into the Square. The locals watched on as a hysterical Tiffany screamed at Grant to hand their daughter over and after a wrangle on the street, she rushed towards Grant, only to be run over by Frank Butcher.
Stunned by the turn of events, the locals watched on as Tiffany took her final breath and died on the pavement outside The Vic. Click 'play' on the console below to watch the iconic moment again.
