'EastEnders' Moments: Dot and Jim's Wedding
Published Monday, Feb 15 2010, 15:00 GMT | By Kris Green
EastEnders pensioners Dot Cotton and Jim Branning were thrown together at the turn of the millennium by then-executive producer - now controller of BBC drama production - John Yorke.
After accepting Jim's proposal on the London Eye in 2001, the pair finally married on Valentine's Day the following year in a traditional church ceremony.
On her way, though, Dot asked Charlie to pull over at the cemetery so she could explain to her late friend Ethel why she was tying the knot again.
