'EastEnders' Moments: Heather's Baby Daddy Reveal

The father of Heather Trott's baby was finally revealed on October 23 last year when Darren Miller swung the hospital ward door open, before making an about turn on the spot and bolting from the scene.
Some 9.4m tuned in to see the controversial climax to EastEnders' long-running 'Who's The Daddy?' plot, as 18-year-old budding entrepreneur Darren was unveiled as the lad responsible for one of the most talked-about soap 'whodunnits' in recent years.
In classic EastEnders style, Heather called the father and left a voicemail on his phone and as a number of mobiles rang across Walford, each of the potential baby daddies made their way to the hospital. Darren, however, sent the nation into meltdown as he was the one to open the hospital room door.
The identity of Heather's nightclub conquest remained secret almost until the episode aired. The result, however, caused a stir among fans, some of whom branded the twist "unbelievable" and "ridiculous".
Speaking of the reveal at the time, Heather actress Charyl Fergison said: "I was really pleased for Charlie [G. Hawkins] that he's got a great storyline. I knew it'd be controversial. Having said that, I think viewers will know Heather's character enough to know that it's nothing sinister - it's an innocent thing between them."
