'Enders boss: 'Cast can cope with live ep'

Diederick Santer
In an interview with the show's official website, Santer explained that trying to get a scene right in one take is nothing new for the majority of Walford's regulars.
Speaking of the looming challenge, Santer commented: "I think the cast will adapt to it. Normally they're used to filming a scene in one take. We film multi-camera and put four cameras on most scenes and almost all of our actors aspire to get it in take one.
"Our cast are really used to getting it in the take and nailing it. They're gonna have to on Friday 19!"
The drama's boss also pointed out that some members of the cast have appeared in live broadcasts before.
He said: "Derek Martin did it in episodes of Z Cars in the '60s. Pam St Clement, June Brown and Barbara Windsor understand - they've all done live drama in their time.
"I think the difference was in those days it would all be in one studio, but because EastEnders is a set entity you're expecting to see both inside and outside."
Tomorrow's live instalment will feature the long-awaited reveal of Archie Mitchell's killer.
