Bookies 'relief at Archie killer outcome'
A Ladbrokes spokesperson has revealed that the bookmakers had their all-time busiest day of TV betting before the 'Who Killed Archie?' Eastenders outcome.

20/1 outsider Stacey Slater was revealed as the killer on Friday evening, which followed a record-breaking day of betting around the country.

The company opened for bids on the soap cliffhanger earlier this week, and have now said that they were shocked at the vast numbers of people taking bets.

Ladbrokes representative David Williams said: "It was the busiest 24 hours of TV betting we've ever seen. The country went into meltdown and all our records were smashed with every punter in the country betting on the Archie storyline.

"The eleventh hour plunge on Jean Slater had us in cold sweats but very [few] people cottoned onto Stacey as the killer. We feel as though we've got away with murder."
