Turner: 'I can't believe Stacey did it'

Lacey Turner has admitted that she was shocked when she heard her EastEnders character Stacey Branning killed Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb).

Stacey confessed to the murder at the end of last night's live episode.

Speaking this morning, Turner said: "I honestly couldn't believe it! I had no idea and didn't for one minute think it would be Stacey. It's funny because usually you're told when you get such a big storyline but this really must be the best kept secret in EastEnders history as we've all been trying to guess for weeks."

Turner added that she only learned that her character was the murderer less than half an hour before the live show began.

"I got a call to go and see [executive producer] Diederick [Santer] about 20 minutes before we went live," she explained. "We all knew that he was going to see Archie's killer but I didn't think for one second that it would be me.

"To be honest, it still hasn't sunk in and I can't believe that I was the one who killed Archie Mitchell!"
