Windsor admits 'Enders live ep shock

EastEnders star Barbara Windsor has admitted that she still cannot believe the soap's cast managed to get through last week's live episode.

The BBC drama marked its 25th anniversary last Friday with the special instalment, which featured the death of fan favourite Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) and the twist that his wife Stacey (Lacey Turner) killed Archie Mitchell.

Speaking about the challenging episode, Windsor - who plays Mitchell matriarch Peggy - joked: "Well, don't talk to me about that!"

Speaking to PA, she added: "I can't believe it, that we did it - well by the skin of our teeth. But it was good to get it under our belt."

Windsor was chatting at the world premiere of Tim Burton's new movie Alice in Wonderland, in which she voiced the character of The Dormouse.

The actress will bow out of her Walford role later this year because she wants to spend more time with her husband Scott Mitchell.
