Benjamin: 'I don't want Chelsea to die'

Outgoing EastEnders actress Tiana Benjamin has revealed that she would rather her character Chelsea Fox leave happy than die at the hands of her murderous screen father.

Last month, the 25-year-old announced her decision to quit the BBC soap after four years in order to explore other opportunities.

Despite knowing nothing of her exit plot, she told DS on the red carpet at this year's British Soap Awards: "I don't want her to die, I really don't. I just find that really weird - I know it's acting, but you know... I hope she has a happy ending. She has a lot of dark stuff at the moment."

She added: "[But] with Don Gilet's character [Lucas] being so psychotic, you never know..."
