A special version of the EastEnders theme tune used for Peggy Mitchell's exit will be available to download.

Last week, Digital Spy confirmed that Simon May had reworked his original composition for Barbara Windsor's final episode.

'Peggy's Theme' will be available on a new collection of May's work which is scheduled for release on September 13. However, a note on his official website confirmed that a 'Peggy’s Theme' EP will be available to pre-order from 9am on September 4 on iTunes.

A special 'Peggy's Theme' website has now been launched. It confirms that the EP will contain five tracks including the 2009 updated version of the EastEnders theme tune, Nick Berry's 'Every Loser Wins' and 'Somethin Out Of Nothin’' by Letitia Dean and Paul Medford.

It will also feature Anita Dobson's track 'Anyone Can Fall In Love' which reached number four in the charts in 1986.

A source told The Sun: "It would be amazing to get EastEnders back in the charts."

The website states that the EP can be purchased from Amazon at 8.40pm on Friday September 10. It will be available from all other online retailers from September 11.
