'Enders actor praises new Ben Mitchell

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has revealed that he is enjoying working with the soap's new Ben Mitchell - actor Joshua Pascoe.

Pascoe was officially unveiled as the new Ben last month, taking over the role from Charlie Jones, who made his final appearance in the Walford show earlier this year.

Speaking to Last Broadcast about the recast, Borthwick - who plays Jay Brown - commented: "Obviously it will be different, but it's just something you have to deal with in this game. I have really taken to Joshua, he is a nice guy and we have a good rapport.

"I do miss Charlie, I haven't seen him in ages and it would be really nice to catch up with him at some stage."

Meanwhile, Borthwick also hinted that Jay and Ben will have their own storyline once the character makes his screen comeback.

Asked what is to come for Jay in the next few months, the actor replied: "Jay and Ben are busy, there is lots going on there!"

Ben will be back on Albert Square later this year when he is released from juvenile detention after six months locked away.
