Glynis Barber has admitted that she would like her EastEnders character Glenda Mitchell to set flatmate Carol Jackson on a more mischievous path in a forthcoming storyline.

Carol (Lindsey Coulson) moved in with her work colleague last month following the tragic death of her son Billie, which caused her to consider suicide at her lowest ebb.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Barber commented: "I love the friendship between Glenda and Carol and adore Lindsey Coulson - she's a great person and a wonderful actress.

"The characters are very different but actually have a lot in common - it would be a lot of fun if Glenda could lead Carol astray. Lindsey and I hope they give us more scenes together."

Last month, Coulson noted that Carol and Glenda are a "strange pairing" but predicted that the new living arrangement would help the grieving mum to reinvent herself.

Meanwhile, another upcoming plotline will see Glenda romantically linked to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
