EastEnders rose above Coronation Street on Thursday night, overnight data indicates.

Boosted by two new arrivals, the BBC One serial took 9.65m (38.6%), adding a further 883k (3.7%) on BBC Three at 10pm.

Meanwhile, more scheming from Weatherfield's Tracy was seen by 9.49m (35.4%) at 8.30pm.

Prior to that, a double bill of Emmerdale - in which Pollard was met by a blast from the past to stir Val's suspicion - brought in respective audiences of 8.23m (34.2%) and 8m (31.6%).

Elsewhere, Kathleen's plotting in Hollyoaks grabbed the attention of 1.18m (5.2%), then 381k (1.6%) watched E4's first look.
