Brett reveals 'Enders co-star support

Laurie Brett has revealed that her EastEnders co-star Steve McFadden has been showering her with gifts since she confirmed the news of her pregnancy.

The actress, who plays caterer Jane Beale on the Walford soap, is expecting her first child with partner Johnny Milroy.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Brett explained that McFadden - better known as Albert Square hardman Phil Mitchell - has been particularly supportive in recent weeks.

She said: "I keep arriving at my dressing room to find that Steve McFadden has left all sorts of gifts outside my door, including a beautiful crib. He's been like Santa."

Brett also admitted that her screen husband Adam Woodyatt (Ian) guessed she was pregnant while she was still keeping quiet over her happy news.

"He said, 'You're pregnant, aren't you?' It's not surprising that he knew as we spend more time with each other than we do with our partners," she explained. "I had suddenly become very sensitive to certain smells and I wasn't going out for cigarette breaks."

Reports suggest that Brett is due to give birth in May.
