Matt Willis is reportedly in with a shot of landing a role in EastEnders.

The former Busted popstar and I'm A Celebrity... winner could play a relative of Alfie Moon, according to The Mirror.

It was previously announced that David Essex will be joining the BBC soap as Michael Moon's father - Alfie's uncle - and Willis could apparently join the cast as the '70s legend's son following a couple of auditions.

A source close to the show's Elstree hub is quoted as saying: "EastEnders has a few new faces coming to Walford over the next few months, which they are currently casting for.

"Matt's first screen test went really well and he has been called back for a second. It would be great for him to land this gig - many of his fans would say it's 'what he went to school for'."

An EastEnders spokesman added: "We are seeing a number of people, including Matt, about future roles, however no decisions have been made yet."

Willis, 27, has just finished appearing in musical Flashdance.
