'EastEnders' baby swap fallout nabs 10.2m

The controversial baby swap storyline kept EastEnders well above the 10 million mark on Monday evening, according to the latest audience data.

EastEnders averaged 10.2m (42.7%) for BBC One from 8pm, up 1.12m week-on-week, as Kat, Alfie, Jack and Roxy struggled to come to terms with Ronnie's confession. A further 1.09m (5.5%) caught the repeat on BBC Three from 10pm.

ITV1's Coronation Street was watched by 9.16m (42%) from 7.30pm and 193k (0.8%) on +1, as Maria finally told Chris the truth about her ordeal with Frank. A surprise move from Kevin pulled in 9.86m (41.5%) from 8.30pm.

On Emmerdale, 6.93m (35.3%) tuned in on ITV1 from 7pm as Jackson adopted a defeatist attitude after hearing bad news from his doctor. A further 124k (0.5%) watched the episode on +1.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks managed 1.06m (5.8%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before E4's first look at the next episode pulled in 375k (1.9%) from 7pm.

Earlier in the day, Doctors was seen by 1.56m (21.5%) between 1.45pm and 2.15pm, while Neighbours entertained 678k (9.4%) on Channel 5. A repeat of the Australian soap fetched 1.23m (9.2%) on the channel from 5.30pm.

Home & Away fetched 888k (5.5%) from 6pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode entertained 500k (2.7%) from 6.30pm.
