Shenice, who is the daughter of Kat's old friend Martina (Tamara Wall), was first introduced to the soap earlier this year as she and her mum arrived at the Queen Vic unexpectedly. The duo turned up on the Square after their dream life in Spain had started to turn sour.
According to The Sun, Kat and Alfie will head for a holiday in Spain in the coming weeks and catch up with Martina off screen. Fans will then see them return home with Shenice in tow, having convinced Martina that the child is better off with them.
The latest twist in the Moons' family life comes after they were recently reunited with son Tommy in the climax to EastEnders' baby swap storyline.
A Walford source told the newspaper: "Kat and Alfie have just got their family back together when they turn up with another kid in tow. Poor old Shenice has not been having a great time in Spain with her mum, who won't win any prizes for mother of the year.
"Martina may be an old friend, but Kat is fed up because she keeps neglecting her daughter and going on the razz. She seems incapable of settling down. So she and Alfie convince Martina that Shenice would be better off back with them in Walford. Alfie has missed her like mad."
Reports suggest that Shenice will be around on the Square for a number of weeks. The young character is played by Lily Harvey, who is the sister of former EastEnders actress Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater).
