Ryan Malloy, who is played by Neil McDermott, will reportedly get romantically involved with 17-year-old Lauren Branning and subsequently fall out with her father Max in upcoming storylines.
A soap insider told The Sun: "Sparks will fly when Ryan and Lauren begin their relationship. Max is certainly someone not to mess with. He's already very protective of his daughters and Ryan isn't exactly his favourite person after his relationship with Stacey, who Max will always hold a torch for."
Ryan recently returned to Albert Square after some time away following his ordeal with ex-wife Janine.
30-year-old McDermott hit the headlines when he cheated on his wife Michelle with 16-year-old fan Chloe Peebles. The fling took place six weeks after Michelle gave birth to their first child.
After the scandal, he said: "I am so sorry to my wife, daughter and our family for this betrayal. I'm distraught that my life is now in tatters due to a stupid mistake."
