POTD: Roxy pleads with Ronnie in 'EastEnders'
Published Monday, May 2 2011, 10:03 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly | Add comment
Roxy pays a visit to Ronnie in prison and begs her to reconsider her legal case in tonight's episode of EastEnders.
After hearing that Ronnie has sacked her solicitor because she doesn't want to be released, Roxy offers to hire her a new lawyer so that she can get the situation back on track.
However, Ronnie doesn't take kindly to Roxy's interference and suggests that she's only helping so that she can prove to everyone that she's the stronger sister. Upset at being branded selfish, Roxy leaves the prison distraught.
Later, Roxy goes ahead with her plan to hire a new solicitor, but will Ronnie co-operate?
Speaking in a recent interview with DS, Rita Simons - who plays Roxy - commented: "Roxy just wants to get her sister out of prison - that's all she wants. She can see that Jack is falling apart and she can't bear to see that, so she thinks that if Ronnie comes out, Jack will start to pull himself together."
She added: "I think this is definitely the start of [Roxy] growing up, which is nice to see! It's definitely the start of her standing on her own two feet. Whether or not she'll make a pig's ear of it remains to be seen, but it's definitely a transition for her."

EastEnders airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
