The EastEnders star, who plays Patrick Trueman in the soap opera, suggested that he will stay on the drama for as long as they want him.
He told The Voice: "Actors don't retire. We drop down on the job. I am enjoying it. I am enjoying life. It's great."
Walker, who is launching his Rudolph Walker School Drama Awards on May 12, said that he has been given lots of support.
He commented: "Doing this, I am getting support from actors and people in the community - it's guaranteed sort of a longevity but I still play quite a lot of tennis. I play cricket... so I am very active."
He added: "[I have] absolutely no plans to retire. I am certainly in EastEnders until next year January. We'll see whether they renew my contract."
Walker will launch his drama awards at 6pm on May 12 at the performing arts hub Millfield House in Edmonton, North London.
The awards will see around 70 youngsters from seven Edmonton schools produce and star in their own original plays to compete for awards in an event that will see one of them crowned a winner on May 22.
