EastEnders star Steve John Shepherd has hinted that his twisted character Michael Moon could eventually start to sort through his issues with dad Eddie.

Michael's current storyline sees him plotting for revenge against Eddie (David Essex), wanting to punish him in spectacular fashion on September 13, which is the anniversary of his mother's suicide.

Part of the businessman's evil plan involves arranging a mismatched boxing fight for his half-brother Tyler (Tony Discipline), knowing that he is likely to be seriously injured against a fearsome opponent.

Michael has also recruited fragile Vanessa Gold to seduce Eddie with the aim of Carol Jackson discovering their fling on September 13.

"He wants justice, whatever that may mean in Michael's own mind," Shepherd told All About Soap. "He wants recognition from Eddie. He wants him to say sorry, and he wants closure. He also wants Eddie to admit he's to blame."

However, asked whether Michael secretly wants a better relationship with his dad, the actor replied: "Yes, absolutely. There's some stuff coming up, which I can't really reveal too much about, but there are some scenes between Michael and Eddie where they finally begin to work through the storm."

Shepherd added that Michael is jealous of the bond that Eddie shares with Tyler and Anthony.

"He hates all the banter that they have, and the memories they can draw on but Michael can't," he said. "It's perverse, but the fact that Eddie, Tyler and Anthony are a unit is what fuels Michael's desire to destroy them all."

Viewers learned that Michael blames his father for his mum's death shortly after Eddie arrived on Albert Square in June.
