Phil finds another newspaper cutting

EastEnders villain Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) will be accused of murdering his ex-fiancée Stella Crawford (Sophie Thompson) as the soap's stalker plot continues.

The Walford hardman is currently being tormented by a mystery individual, who has already revealed that they know about him burning down the car lot in the mid '90s and will soon present the police with evidence linking him to the death of Kevin Wicks, who was killed in 2007 while driving an illegal "cut and shut" car from the Albert Square garage.

Following Phil's arrest, authorities will re-examine the circumstances of Stella's death on the day of their wedding the same year.

Phil's troubled wife-to-be leapt from a rooftop after her psychological torture of his son Ben was exposed.

"The police have always been interested in Phil and with his chequered history his many ghosts from his past are coming back to haunt him," a source told The Sun. "It's been a long time since Phil thought about Stella so when the police bring her up he's not at all happy. He didn't murder her but it's not looking good for him.

"On paper Stella was a harmless spinster but, as everyone knows, she was a deranged loony who abused Phil's son Ben. There's a lot of trouble ahead for Phil as the cops are desperate to lock him up and throw away the key."

Ben (Joshua Pascoe) is bookies' favourite to be named as Phil's stalker, although Eastenders bosses have so far only confirmed Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) as suspects.
