'EastEnders': Pat says goodbye to David and Janine - Unseen Pictures

EastEnders returnee David Wicks is to have an emotional reunion with his mum Pat as she lies on her deathbed on New Year's Day.

Pat's health starts to deteriorate quickly in the coming days, and as she takes a sudden turn for the worse, Albert Square residents start gathering round to say their goodbyes.

However, viewers will see that David (Michael French) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) are the two people who have the most to make out of their last moments with Pat.

Bianca (Patsy Palmer) spends days chasing David to tell him about the seriousness of his mother's illness, but when he finally does return to Walford, his reunion with Pat (Pam St Clement) doesn't go well. Will they be able to look past old wounds and reconnect before it's too late?

Meanwhile, what will Janine have to say as she sees her stepmother at her very weakest?
