The part will now be played by 13-year-old Thomas Law.
Of his new role, the actor told DS: "I couldn't believe it when I heard that I got the part, I'm really excited as I am a big fan of EastEnders."
The teenager, who has been modelling since the age of four, has previously appeared in several episodes of Casualty.
Law is the fourth actor to appear as the son of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), his predecessors being James Martin, Joseph Shade and Alex Stevens.
The all-new Beale will make his debut on Thursday, August 31, alongside on-screen sister Lucy (Melissa Suffield).
