The actress recently announced that she will film EastEnders exit scenes in August before taking six months off from the show.
Brooks appeared on This Morning today and revealed that she is planning to embark on a European road trip with her 7-year-old daughter Kiki once she has completed her filming commitments.
"I've got six months off in August, just to have a bit of breathing space," she commented. "It'll be me and Kiki, camper van, Europe - I can't wait. So we're going to do a big old road trip. Sometimes you just need a little bit of a break."
The 30-year-old has also been tipped to compete on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing during her break, but she made no mention of the rumours during the interview.
Brooks's Walford character Janine Butcher is currently expecting a baby with partner Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd). However, news of her upcoming exit has led to speculation over the couple's future.
Pondering what could happen to the pair, Brooks added: "I can't give anything away, and I've just been given a bit of information that I can't tell. I think I'd get sacked! Let's just say there's lots of fun and games to come."
EastEnders fans will see Michael propose to Janine in tomorrow night's (March 2) episode of the soap.
