The 34-year-old actress, whose character Tanya Branning has been battling cervical cancer in the BBC serial, suggested that heartwarming plots are boring.
She joked to What's on TV: "I'm doing some happy scenes - about three - it's been nice."
Joyner went on: "Maybe they'll get on for a bit and have a nice time. But that wouldn't be very dramatic or interesting.
"Walford's quite a miserable place, but that's part of the fun. It wouldn't be dramatic would it, watching us all win bingo!"
On Thursday night, Tanya will find out the results of her all-important MRI scan with husband Max (Jake Wood).
Joyner, who has been in the soap's cast since 2006, has previously insisted that the hard-hitting plot does not depress her.
