'EastEnders' Phil, Shirley troubles seen by 7.6m

EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's (April 24) soap ratings as Shirley cut ties with Phil, overnight figures show.

EastEnders pulled in 7.63m (35.8%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Shirley refused to take Phil back and declared that she was no longer a Mitchell. BBC Three's repeat screening secured a strong 979k (5.1%) at 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 5.09m (22.2%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Half a Person'.

Emmerdale attracted 6.45m (32.6%) at 7pm as Rachel continued to voice her concerns for Sandy, adding 120k (0.5%) on +1.

Hollyoaks had 781k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 106k (0.5%) on timeshift as Phoebe told Rhys the truth about her mum, while E4's first look interested 472k (2.4%) at 7pm and 121k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 692k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 920k (6.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 693k (4.1%) at 6pm and 521k (2.9%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'If Music Be the Food of Love' - was seen by 1.4m (20.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
