Speaking to Inside Soap, the Blue singer revealed that he is close friends with Rita Simons, who plays the wild Roxy Mitchell in the Albert Square drama serial.

James explained: ''I like to watch the show and see what they're doing with her character. Purely because Rita is one of my best friends."
However, the 34-year-old admitted that he has a tendency of dipping in and out of the show.
''I find that EastEnders is one of those shows that I can't watch for three months," he added. "Then suddenly I'll catch a single episode and get right back into it again.''
Simons's alter ego Roxy has recently fallen for Queen Vic landlord Alfie Moon in a storyline which coincides with Jessie Wallace's return to Walford as Kat Slater.
