'EastEnders' Tanya proposal seen by 6.5m

EastEnders was the most-watched soap on Tuesday evening (June 12) as Tanya proposed to Max, overnight figures show.

EastEnders pulled in 6.54m (30.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Max was left stunned by Tanya's sudden suggestion that they should remarry. The episode clashed with continuing Euro 2012 coverage on ITV1, but BBC Three's repeat screening secured a strong 929k (4.8%) at 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 4.52m (19.4%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Unsafe Haven, Part One'.

Hollyoaks, meanwhile, interested 777k (4.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 144k (0.7%) on +1 as Joel became infuriated over Walker's return. Later, E4's first look appealed to 475k (2.5%) at 7pm and 116k (0.5%) on timeshift.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 616k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 952k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 775k (4.4%) at 6pm and 426k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Matthew & Son' - was seen by 1.33m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
