'EastEnders' claims first September victory over 'Coronation Street'

EastEnders beat Coronation Street for the first time this month last night.

Friday's Syed-centred episode drew 7.02m (31.8%) at 8pm, and 354k (2.3%) for BBC Three's 10.30pm repeat.

Lloyd's latest storyline in Coronation Street, meanwhile, interested 6.66m (31.8%) at 7.30pm (+1: 174k/0.8%) and 6.58m (28.8%) at 8.30pm (+1: 248k/1.2%).

Emmerdale pulled in 5.53m (28.7%) for Amy's upsetting visit to mum Kerry at 7pm, also appealing to a further 161k (0.7%) on ITV1 +1.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks managed 968k (5.3%) at 6.30pm, after which E4's first look grabbed 501k (2.6%). The finale of Hollyoaks Later drew 442k (2.6%) and 162k (0.6%) on timeshift.

Meanwhile, the latest edition of Neighbours averaged 671k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 840k (5.8%) at 5.30pm.

Home and Away nabbed 696k (4.3%) at 6pm, before 5*'s first look logged 453k (2.5%).

Earlier in the day, Doctors fetched 1.22m (17.9%) for an episode titled 'Hello and Goodbye'.
