First Look: Pauline Fowler - Dead

The biggest exit in soapland finally dawns on Christmas Day as Pauline Fowler sensationally leaves Walford.
Wendy Richard has been the matriarch of the Square since EastEnders started in 1985 and has subsequently been involved in some of the programme's most memorable storylines.
Over the past few weeks Pauline has done everything she can to keep her beloved son, Martin (James Alexandrou), away from Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) - stooping as low as to pretend to have a brain tumour - a lie which, in turn, has appalled the residents of Albert Square.
Just as she prepares to leave Walford for a new life in America, she suffers a brain haemorrhage. Foul play, however, cannot be ruled out...
