When asked by Inside Soap about his feelings for the show, the actor declared: "I'll always be an avid fan of the show.

"They should bring in some hot new gay guys - out with the old and in with the new."

Of his time with co-star and on-screen lover Marc Elliot, Partridge further gushed: "I've learned so much from Marc - in fact, I said that to him as we were leaving.

"Some of it I liked, some of it I didn't. But we're like brothers, we really are. I've made a friend for life in Marc."

Walford's other gay resident Danny Pennant left the Square last week, as actor Gary Lucy was only signed up for a short stint.

Meanwhile, Ben Mitchell is currently serving time for the murder of Heather Trott. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
