'EastEnders': 8.1m watch Kirsty, Lauren scenes on Thursday

EastEnders topped Thursday evening's (January 17) soap ratings with the latest developments for Kirsty and the Brannings, overnight figures show.

The Walford drama pulled in 8.11m (34.5%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Kirsty attempted to strike up a bond with troubled stepdaughter Lauren. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 502k (3.0%) at 10.30pm.

Kirsty manages to get Lauren to her room to sleep off the booze.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, pulled in 7.21m (31.9%) at 7pm on ITV as Alicia and Priya clashed at The Woolpack. 6.53m (26.7%) returned at 8pm and 244k (1.0%) on +1 to see Cain worry over Debbie's scheming.

Waterloo Road continued with 3.68m (15.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Dynasty reconsidered what she wanted for her future.

Hollyoaks remained steady with 1.1m (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as scheming Browning gave Myra the all-clear, while E4's first look had 644k (2.8%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 625k (8.0%) at 1.45pm and 1.03m (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 722k (3.6%) at 6pm and 447k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.74m (22.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
