Inside Soap Awards 2013 nominations revealed

The nominations longlist for the Inside Soap Awards 2013 has been announced today (July 23).

Soap fans can cast their votes across 15 categories, celebrating the highlights and best performances from the past 12 months.

As with previous years, the longlist sees nominees from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks represented equally across most of the categories, which include 'Best Actor', 'Best Actress', 'Best Newcomer' and 'Best Young Actor'.

The 12 stars in the running for this year's 'Best Actor' prize include Coronation Street's David Neilson, EastEnders' Steve McFadden, Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley and Hollyoaks's Nick Pickard.

Meanwhile, Michelle Keegan (Coronation Street), Jacqueline Jossa (EastEnders), Lesley Dunlop (Emmerdale) and Jennifer Metcalfe (Hollyoaks) are among the 12 'Best Actress' nominees.

Weatherfield's Marc Baylis, Walford's Ben Hardy, Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick and Hollyoaks actress Anna Passey are among those with 'Best Newcomer' nods, while the 'Best Young Actor' category includes Ellie Leach (Coronation Street), Maisie Smith (EastEnders), Eden Taylor-Draper (Emmerdale) and Ellis Hollins (Hollyoaks).

Other categories featuring nominees from the big four soaps are 'Funniest Male', 'Funniest Female', 'Best Bad Boy', 'Best Bitch', 'Sexiest Male', 'Sexiest Female' and 'Best Storyline'. The shows will also battle it out for the highly-coveted 'Best Soap' title.

Home and Away

Doctors, Neighbours and Home and Away are also represented in the awards, as there are 'Best Daytime Star' and 'Best Daytime Soap' categories.

Additionally, Casualty, Holby City and Waterloo Road will battle it out for the 'Best Drama' award.

Last year's ceremony saw EastEnders win big on the night, taking home six prizes including 'Best Soap'.
