EastEnders Terry Alderton on Dyer feud: 'There is no bad blood'

By
EastEnders star Terry Alderton has revealed that he misjudged co-star Danny Dyer prior to him joining the show.

Alderton began at the soap last year as Bianca Butcher's boyfriend Terry, and Dyer made his debut at Christmas when his character Mick Carter took over the Queen Vic.

Speaking about previous tensions between the two, with the comic having repeatedly impersonated Dyer, Alderton said to The Sun: "I first found out Danny was coming into the show when my mum texted me. I thought, 'You're joking!'

"To cut a long story short, I saw him sitting in costume. I said, 'I think we'd better get this over with now!'

"He was going, 'Nah, nah, it's not a problem geezer'. I said, 'Okay geezer, fine'. You know what? That episode taught me a lot about myself as a person. Danny is a very sweet man."

Alderton continued: "The moral of the story is, we had a falling out and I was too quick to judge him on the stereotype of what he was. My videos were popular and funny. But when you get to know Danny, that character is not him.

"There's no bad blood. He knows what I'm about - I'm a comic, I'm a piss-taker. We got on straight away, it was absolutely fine."

Alderton also revealed that he and Dyer now want to team up for next year's Comic Relief.

He said: "We are going to do 'Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men', on the Square, hopefully for the next Comic Relief - and he is going to 'iron me out'.

"It would be good for this guy to say, 'I'm sick and tired of this geezer doing spoofs of me on the internet and taking the mickey out of me on the telly'. It will be hilarious."
