Fans invited to Mike Reid's funeral

Fans of EastEnders favourite Mike Reid have been invited to speak at the actor's funeral.

The ceremony will be held at 2pm in the village church at Little Easton, Essex, tomorrow. A number of the comic's showbiz friends are expected to attend the service, including the cast of EastEnders, who have been given the day off to pay their last respects to Reid.

Mike's widow Shirley has decided that she also wants his fans to have the opportunity to pay tribute at the funeral.

"Shirley and the rest of the family know Mike has an army of fans - he'd been performing almost 40 years," Reid's friend and agent David Hahn told The Sun. "They've had countless messages of support and want his fans to have a chance to pay their respects too. It will be an open door policy."

Reid died two weeks ago after suffering a heart attack at his Spanish home.
