'Enders boss: 'I'd like to see Simon Wicks return'

EastEnders' executive producer Diederick Santer has revealed which classic character he would most like to see back in Walford.

Following last month's announcements that Patsy Palmer and Sid Owen are to return to Albert Square as Ricky and Bianca in the New Year, the BBC soap chief has his eyes set on another blast from the past – Simon Wicks.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Diederick teased: "I'd love to see what he's like today. What is this golden boy, who had the world and the women of Walford at his feet, doing now? Has he delivered on his early promise?"

He added: "I loved Nick Berry playing him – Simon was a likeable but complex character. Maybe I should ask him to come back…"
