'Enders star: 'Fans tell me off in the street'
EastEnders star Nina Wadia has revealed that she shops on the internet to avoid being harassed.

The actress, who has played Muslim postmistress Zainab Masood since last summer, said fans give her a hard time for her character's strict attitude to children Shabnam and Tamwar.

The mum-of-two told Teletext: "People cross the street when they see me and I get told off when I go shopping.

"I get people saying, 'Why are you such a bitch to your daughter?' and it takes me a few seconds to realise they're not talking about my four-year-old.

"My daughter hates it when I get stopped and drags me away. I do a lot of shopping on the internet."

She added: "I'm hoping that now when people see her back story they will start to love her a little bit."
