Bart Edwards, who attends Tring Arts Educational School, was discovered by one of the show's directors during a musical and has since been cast in the role of Olly, secret boyfriend to wayward Walford teen Lucy Beale (Melissa Suffield).
Speaking of his part, Edwards told hemeltoday: "It is just amazing. Everybody is lovely on the set. I watch EastEnders…but I never expected to be on TV with those people."
The 19-year-old, who describes his character as "a laid back person who takes each day as it comes", will first appear on screen next month.
