'EastEnders' 2009 Teasers

Published Wednesday, Dec 17 2008, 15:46 GMT | By Kris Green | 3 comments
I managed to grab some time with EastEnders exec Diederick Santer earlier this month to see what he's enjoyed the most about the past 12 months in Walford. Click here to have a butchers at what he had to say for himself.

Meanwhile, here are ten annoyingly cryptic teasers about what's coming up in Albert Square in 2009.

Make of them what you will!

§ Wedding bells.
§ A mother and daughter reunited at last.
§ Something truly frightening appearing from Patrick's past.
§ The Masoods and the Beales getting thrown together in an enclosed space.
§ Hev finally deciding it's time to meet her idol.
§ Something large and a bit damp heading Bradley's way.
§ A surprising ally for Janine.
§ A smile on Chelsea's face.
§ A strange flatmate for Billy.
§ And quite a few days in court...

Finally, I have to mention the first half of Christmas week in Walford. Anna Karen makes a welcome return as everyone's favourite Mitchell relative Aunt Sal. Her one-liners and brazen attitude towards the rest of her family simply make Mitchell get-togethers what they are.

There's a fabulous exchange between Peggy and Sal about saggy boobs and Peggy's partiality to frumpy frocks. And while I'm on the subject of Peggy's new-found wardrobe, Sal seems to have the measure of Archie already. Here's hoping 'Enders have earmarked Anna Karen's diary for Archie and Peggy's impending nuptials...

And there's a touch of nostalgia and magic about the Christmas Eve episode. I'll not give too much away, only to say that there's quite a bit of reminiscing and disappearing going on as far as Ian's concerned. The ghost of Christmas Past trying to tell him something, maybe?

If you're wondering why I have no thoughts on the Christmas Day eps, it's because I'm patiently waiting for the postie to turn up with them!

Let me know your thoughts on the above teasers using the usual form below. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for a chat with Hollyoaks' departing producer Bryan Kirkwood.
