The fate of Jean Slater in 'EastEnders'

I've had e-mail after e-mail over the past seven days querying the fate of the loveable Jean Slater in EastEnders, played by Gillian Wright.

Following her dressing gown incident and the aftermath during last night's episode, some fans are worried that we'll never see her again, while others controversially think she's going to be killed off.

I can, however, confirm that we'll definitely be seeing her on the Square again and there are certainly no plans to write her out of the show.

Jean won't be appearing on screen for a good few weeks due to her voluntary admission into care in the storyline - which presumably enabled Gillian to have a short break! Rest assured, though, Stacey Slater's (Lacey Turner) mother will be back.
