Walford matriarch Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) faces the toughest day of her council election campaign yet in tonight's EastEnders, as she's forced to deliver a speech to local residents as to why she should be elected as their next representative.
With Ronnie (Samantha Janus) accusing her of putting the election before her family, Peggy struggles with her preparation and nearly throws in the towel when she begins to deliver her speech. However, when Ronnie relents and turns up at the community centre in support of her aunt, Peggy gets a second wind and she's a resounding success.

All's not well, though, when she returns to The Vic and collapses just as her husband-to-be Archie (Larry Lamb) raises a toast to her...
