Poll: Jack Branning's Women of Walford

Published Saturday, Jun 13 2009, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green | 5 comments
Last week, I mused Who should Corrie's Tina be with? and you voted in your thousands to tell me what you thought.

Tina McIntyre's (Michelle Keegan) about to embark on a new romance with another man on the Street over the coming weeks in the guise of Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas). So when pitted in a public vote against Tina's ex David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), who do you think came out on top?

Yep, you guessed it, Jason - by a mile. A massive 41.6% of those who voted believe Tina's making the right choice plumping for Jason. Meanwhile, a quarter (25%) of those polled think David's the man of her dreams. Dare I ask why?!

Loveable rogue-turned-butcher-soon-to-be gardener Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) came third in the pecking order with 11.8%, as did the 'Someone Else' option.

Meanwhile, Gary Windass (Mikey North) came at the bottom of the pile with 9.8% of the votes. He doesn't have much luck that guy, does he?

Speaking of Gary, has anyone else noticed the barrage of lines in scripts over the last few weeks pertaining to the redhead's paternity? If, at some point down the line, it doesn't turn out that his Uncle Len is (Conor Ryan) his father, I'll eat my hat.

Moving onto this week's vote, where I ask you about Jack Branning's Women of Walford.

Ladies' man Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) seems to have struck it lucky with a good stream of women on Albert Square since his arrival in October 2007. First up on the agenda was Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) at Christmas 2007 - the year of the Stax reveal. Then following a breakup in 2008, Jack slept with Ronnie's sister Roxy (Rita Simons) in April, the product of which was baby Amy. That certainly ruffled a few feathers in the Mitchell nest.

Not content with either of the Mitchell sisters, Jack then made a move on his brother Max's (Jake Wood) estranged wife Tanya (Jo Joyner). He even got as far as planning to move to France with her and the kids, Lauren (Madeline Duggan) and Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald). That was until Lauren ran her dad Max over.

So now Jack's back with Ronnie after declaring his love for her over the tannoy at Stanstead airport. Having moved into Jack's flat, Ronnie's turned all bunny boiler on him in a frantic attempt to become pregnant. With an engagement ring also floating around, there's surely disaster written on the cards?

Oh, and let's not forget that his ex-wife Selina (Daisy Beaumont) and eldest daughter Penny (Mia McKenna Bruce) are living just across the water in France...

So who is Jack best suited to? Ronnie? Roxy? Tanya? Selina? Or what about Stacey (Lacey Turner)? After all, Jack's probably the only legal Branning she hasn't seduced.

Cast your vote using the usual panel below and I'll be back next week with the results. Oh, and if you do choose the 'Someone Else' option, let me know who you think using the usual comments form!

The only person he's ever been in love with is himself!

Ronnie of course! Though he doesn't actually deserve her!

Ronnie obviously! They love each other even if she is SLIGHTLY crazy

Dot Cotton isn't on the list?! I'm shocked!? ;) I voted Ronnie!
Miss AP Miller, Devon, on June 13th, 2009
I reckon Jack would be more suited to Stacey. He's probably the only Branning she's yet to seduce.
