Poll: Happy ever after for Dawn and Garry?

Published Saturday, Jun 20 2009, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green | 7 comments
So last week, I asked you about Jack Branning's Women of Walford, and you turned out in your droves to proclaim Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) his perfect woman.

Yep, with a huge 65.3% of the vote, you've earmarked Miss Veronica Mitchell as the perfect Branning bride. But it doesn't look promising, does it? Jack's forced to propose next week but when he walks in on the wannabe mother about to pierce a condom, she has quite a bit of explaining to do.

After a huge bust-up on what would have been Danielle's birthday, Ronnie then goes AWOL - we presume to her daughter's grave in Telford - and eventually tells her sister Roxy (Rita Simons) over the phone that she's met someone else and won't be returning to the Square.

Roxy, meanwhile, took 13.4% of the vote. I'll probably get harangued for saying this, but personally, I think Roxy's more suited to Jack than her sister. Ronnie and Jack are too similar for their own good.

Some 8.1% of those who voted believe that Jack's best suited to someone who didn't appear on the list. If anyone could be more specific, please do drop me a line and let me know who you think he'll work well with.

Jack's sister-in-law and brief fling Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner), meanwhile, had 6.8% of the vote, Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner) had 3.6% and his wife Selina came at the bottom of the pile with 2.7%.

So onto this week's question, which again is another EastEnders-themed one. It's harder than it looks to think up topical questions on a weekly basis! If anyone has any suggestions, please click on my name at the top of the page to send me an email.

Did you see these pictures of Garry (Ricky Groves) and Dawn (Kara Tointon) earlier this week?

The cast and crew of EastEnders were on location filming scenes on a canal for episodes to air during the week of Garry and Dawn's wedding. And from these pics, we finally learn what the storylines had planned to use Garry and Minty's (Cliff Parisi) boat for!

Little's known about Garry and Dawn's wedding week, so take from these pictures what you will - they're not confirming whether these scenes are actually the pair's final ones or not. For all we know, they could get halfway down the canal and something happens to the boat...

So with this in mind, this weeks question is: 'Would you like Garry and Dawn to have a happy ending?'

Use the voting panel below to let me know!

Don't forget to check back next Saturday for the results!

Please let Gary and Dawn be happy.. Gary deserves it. And by the way, I'd like to see Lynne too, if probable with an adopted baby.

they deserve happiness in the end because the likliness of garry finding another women that would last is as likely of him becoming prime minister and summer needs a father figure they look like they should be together they match!

I think Jase and Dawn were perfect :( Garry just... doesn't suit her that well.

EastEnders should have one happy ending. Gary, Dawn and Summer deserve to be the ones. avoid the usual soap crises and let them leave happily.

Thank goodness Garry's going its a shame its a happy ending I would prefer him in a coffin or Dawn abandoning him I'm so thrilled he's going I liked Dawn with Jase but shes dull now

So last week, I asked you about Jack Branning's Women of Walford, and you turned out in your droves to proclaim Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) his perfect woman. Don't you mean Samantha Janus KG? Pics for the wedding looks good, hope Ronnie isn't away too long. [Sam Janus got married the other week and has officially changed her surname to her married one, Womack - KG]

Unsurprisingly something will go wrong on Garry and Dawn's wedding day. I reckon something will happen to the boat that they are on. It would be a shame that little Summer will be a victim.
