Walford's Patsy Palmer fronts recycling campaign
Published Wednesday, Jul 1 2009, 13:05 BST | By Kris Green | 1 comment
EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer was out in London doing her bit for charity earlier this week as she launched new mobile phone recycling initiative Simply Drop.
The 37-year-old, who plays Albert Square's fiery redhead Bianca Jackson, is fronting the Royal Mail initiative which allows members of the public to recycle their unwanted electronic gadgets in exchange for cash or a charity donation.
There are an estimated 90 million unused phones lying around UK homes and quite shockingly, if they're sent to landfill, it takes 1,000 years for them to decompose!
Speaking of the scheme, Patsy - who recycled five of her own phones - said: "I have lots of old mobile phones at home that are sitting doing nothing. It makes so much sense to put them to good use and do your bit for charity at the same time."
