Glynis Barber talks Danny and Glenda's Walford future

I've had a load of emails over the past few weeks about the future of Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders. Is she staying? Is she leaving? Will she become a regular character? Is she in the live episode?

Two of those questions are answered below - the other two remain unanswered.

One thing's for sure, though - she's certainly an intriguing character and throwing Danny into the mix muddies the mystery further.

Read on to find out what Glynis has to say about her screen son Danny - played by Liam Bergin - and her future with EastEnders.

What can you tell us about Danny Mitchell?
"To be honest, not a lot. When the actor - Liam Bergin - arrived, I didn't have a lot to do with him and I'm not even there at the moment!

"Danny turns up claiming that he's Ronnie and Roxy's brother and the girls don't know whether to believe him or not. They eventually do and to verify that he is, he calls Glenda in. Glenda confirms that he is her son and when she tries to get him to leave with her, he decides he's going to stay. They invite him to stay and he starts working in The Vic."

You're not there at the moment?
"No - I came in and did nine episodes. I think the reason is that the actress who was originally cast lives in Los Angeles, so they couldn't get her for a longer period. I'm going back, though, for a couple of episodes in the spring."

Do you know what the story is for when she returns?
"I don't! We'll have to see what happens. I'd love to know, though. I do know something that nobody else knows about the character that I couldn't possibly reveal! I know it has to play out at some point and I asked if that's what I'm playing out when I go back in the next few months but it's not..."
