'Enders wedding twist, Corrie crime, E'dale newcomer

By
EastEnders' Tanya Branning is left reeling later this month as Max makes a startling declaration to her on the day of her wedding.

In the run-up to Tanya's special day, Max grows increasingly frustrated over her impending nuptials, appearing jealous as he wonders what she sees in her fiancé Greg.

On the day of the wedding, Max arrives at Tanya's on the warpath as he caught Abi and Jay lying in bed together the previous night. Although nothing happened between the pair, he fears the worst and is desperate to speak to his daughter about it.

However, Tanya tries to stop Max from seeing Abi, telling him that he can have the conversation with her instead. As tempers become frayed, Max turns the topic of the discussion to Tanya's love life - asking why she is really marrying Greg.

Max then tells Tanya that it should be him standing next to her at the church instead of Greg. How will she react to his surprising comments? Does she still have feelings for him, and will she go through with the wedding?

Meanwhile, here are the first official pictures showing the desperate measures that Coronation Street's Jim McDonald will be driven to as he remains determined to drum up the cash to buy The Rovers.

After exhausting all legal avenues of securing the money and failing to convince Kevin to invest in the pub, Jim heads to the bank with a shotgun hidden in his coat.

After queuing up, Jim threatens the cashier and orders her to hand over a fortune in cash. However, it's not long until his attempt at an armed robbery goes horribly wrong and the police are on the scene.

Back on the street, Liz is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to take over at the business, while Steve and Becky are preparing to do a runner with the kids as soon as Jim hands over the money for the pub. How will the McDonalds react when they discover that Jim has let them all down?

Jim's shocking behaviour paves the way for Liz's exit as Beverley Callard bows out of the role for pastures new.

Over on Emmerdale, new recruit Kurtis Stacey makes his debut on the soap later this month, taking on the role of Alex Moss, who becomes employed by the Bartons to work on the farm.

A jealous Adam is uncomfortable over the new arrival, especially when he notices how Alex has won his father's instant approval.

Hannah, meanwhile, is bowled over as soon as she meets him - and confident Alex is more than comfortable with the attention…

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Emmerdale's executive producer Steve November said of Alex: "He's a young guy, a working-class farmhand who arrives in the village.

"He's not unattractive by any means, so he'll be a bit of a heart-throb and romantic lead, break a few hearts, and provide some great stories for our younger women and girls."

Finally, this is the moment that Hollyoaks' Cheryl Brady becomes the latest innocent party to be targeted by sinister Silas Blissett.

When Lynsey and Silas both return to the village, neither is pleased to see the other, and Silas is determined to get his revenge after Lynsey came so close to exposing his true colours last month.

When Silas spots Lynsey helpfully providing Cheryl with some diet pills, he realises that it's the perfect chance to destroy the nurse's credibility for good. Without anybody realising, he swaps the tablets for his own prescription sedatives.

Later, after taking some of the pills, Cheryl struggles to cope with the diet pressure and reaches up for some chocolate biscuits at Chez Chez. However, she suddenly feels drowsy, her visibility blurs and she crashes down onto the floor.

Rhys and Lynsey later find Cheryl and she's rushed to hospital, where tests reveal a high level of sedative in her system. Will Cheryl be okay? And could this prove to be the final nail in the coffin for Lynsey's reputation in the village?
