Eddie, played by singer and actor David Essex, is seen on screen for the first time on Friday, June 3 when he spots his nephew Alfie's name in a newspaper and his curiosity is piqued.
On Monday, June 6, Eddie arrives on the Square to see his family but is forced to quickly play the hero when he spots that Amy is about to be run over by Carol.
In a dramatic moment, Eddie is knocked down by the car as he attempts to get Amy to safety. Will he be okay?
