Digital Spy recently caught up with EastEnders actor Nitin Ganatra to hear about next week's episodes of the soap, which see Masood try to put a stop to Tamwar and Afia's wedding plans due to his anxiety over Yusef.

For loads of gossip and chat about the big week for the Masoods, read the main interview with Nitin if you haven't already.

Here, though, Soap Scoop presents some brief bonus snippets from the actor…

After all the drama at the Mehndi, we see Masood forgive Tamwar, don't we?
"Yes, there is a forgiving nature in Masood. During the Mendhi, he just doesn't react at all, but he then goes to the loo to wash his face and Tamwar comes over and says sorry. Masood says, 'I forgive you - you're a man now'. It's quite an emotional scene. People always forgive their kids!"

What about Zainab and Masood - can they get through this?
"They've been married for 28 years - that's a long time for a marriage on this show! They have an old-fashioned romance, which means that it would probably last, I think. It's not just the length of time but also the romantic circumstances of how they fell in love. He saved Zainab and he'd do it again."

Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) and Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra)
Is there any part of you that would like to see Jane and Masood get together?
"People really like this Jane and Masood chemistry! And I really like working with Laurie as much as I do working with Nina, and it shows on screen. Everybody on the street is always asking when they're going to get together, but the problem is that they're too much of an ideal couple! If they did get together and everything was good, that would probably be the end of their story."

Finally, are you enjoying Masood's interesting alliance with Phil?
"Yeah, Steve McFadden and I had spoken about how it would be great to work together and pitched the idea to Bryan. They're such different characters but it's the difference between them that creates the friction. They've got a mutual respect for each other. There has been interesting stuff between them and we're exploring more of it. In fact, I asked the question to Bryan 45 minutes ago and he said that we will be exploring more of it!"
